Watchdog: Number, capacity of DDoS attacks rise 50% in 2022
MOSCOW, Jun 9 (PRIME) -- The number and capacity of Russia’s DDoS attacks increased by 50% in 2022 and their duration extended to 10 from one hour, the communications service said on Friday in a Telegram post.
“The technical means of the Center for Monitoring and Management of Public Access Connection Network of the Communications Service were used as a shield against the DDoS attacks. More than 40 large attacks on the key Russian industry and state segments were repelled with their help,” the watchdog said.
The service pointed to the necessity to create a national system to protect the infrastructure against all the types of DDoS attacks from abroad on the cross-border points.
An exchange of information about attacks and means of protection should be organized between the country’s companies in the cybersecurity industry.
